My Path to SUSKOMEGA

The name Suskomega was the last step in my process of owning a company. I started out in 2019 making lipstick for myself. I researched for hours and hours on how to make the best lipstick! I wanted something that was pretty and that was safe for my skin. I had a problem with fever blisters and needed something that would protect and heal. I had to start with the basic formula so I began to make lip balm with no color. As time went on, I added color and was making tubes of lipstick for all the ladies in my family. I went from the lipstick tube to liquid lipstick! I still make my own lipstick and I have cut down my fever blister breakouts by 90%! After making lipstick for a while, I started researching how to help my son’s psoriasis. I searched and read articles from patents to PubMed. What was being tested? What was working? I finally made my first “salve/ointment” and called it exactly what it was, “Blue Indigo“.  After handing out samples to my son, he was able to give me constructive criticism.  He didn’t like the salve/ointment feel, so I made a liquid spray, however, I quickly realized that indigo doesn’t dissolve in water!   I went back to my research.  I found the next best thing and made my third product.  What did I name it?  Exactly what it was, “Skin Treatment Spray”!   Once I got these two products down, I started making other things to help our pets!  At this point, I needed a NAME!  I came up with SUSKOMEGA because my last name is Susko, pronounced “S us-co”, and in my notes, I wrote the word, omega, a-lot!   SUSKOMEGA got started in 2022 on Etsy, and I am happy to have you be the first to see my new website! I can’t wait to see where this new path takes me!
